ABSTRACT
Sloths of the genus Bradypus have been reported as hosts of parasite species. However, few studies have been carried out on the helminth fauna found in this genus in Brazil. The aim of the present study was to gather information on endoparasites reported in hosts of the genus Bradypus, presenting a list of helminths and hosts as well images and morphometric data on each species. Two families of Nematoda Class: Filariidae and Spirocercidae and only one Cestoda: Family Anoplocephalidae were found. Among the nematodes, four different genus are reported in Bradypus tridactylus: Dipetalonema, Dirofilaria, Leiuris, Paraleiuris. And two genus in Bradypus variagatus: Dirofilaria, Leiuris and the genus Moniezia (Cestoda). Eight species of nematodes have been recorded in B. tridactylus and two species of nematode and 1 cestode have been recorded in B. variegatus. There are no records of endoparasites in the species B. torquatus.
